Yes it can be added, you have to drill into the frame requires a little elbow grease and a sharp bit. But you will glad afterwards, it was the best option that I got with my boat.

The post bolts through the frame and the top winch must be removed and then the step over the winch is through bolted together. There is a collar that must slip down over the post on the install which is connected to the winch step. The drilling is through the double wall pivot tube, which is the toughest part. Not bad for us as drilling steel is a part of the job, though some have commented that it is hard, and itis the double wall tube that gives that impression. So you do have some drilling to do. BCB

I initially thought the trailer pole was merely a gimmick and it did not look to me to be functional. I felt awkward and off balance the first time I used on in the dealer lot. The second time I tried it, it felt much more comfortable to use. Now, I dont think I would even consider ordering a Bass Cat without it. If you get the pole, I bet you will really like it! Corky

My puma came with the trailer step but can I add the pole and is it easy to install? Thanks

Myself, would not mind if my pole was a few inches taller. Would be a little easier to grasp while reaching for it when stepping from the boat to the step. I will not ever have a trailer without the pole now after getting used to it.
