Trailer Restoration

This past October, my trailer was hit on the port side and needed a new fender. There was a mix up with the replacement fender that was sent to me.Thanks to Allan in parts and Basscats exceptional customer service, I ended up with two new fenders.The new fenders really made my 98 PII trailer look old. So, I decided to restore the entire trailer.After approximately 50 hours, I am finally done.

You did all of that yourself? If so you should be proud of that job! It looks great.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!

Thanks guys!DG – I dropped the front of the trailer down all the way. Put jack stands and 4 x 6 under the jack plate.I then raised the front of the trailer up as far as it would go. That lifted the back of the boat of the trailer.I then jacked the front up, pulled out the trailer as far as I can until I reached a cross section and kept doing that over and over.I used jack stands and 4 x 4 to keep the front end up.I spread out the tires in the picture, just to have a cushion in case the boat fell.It took a bit of work, but it worked out.

That came out really well! I really need to do that to mine, as even with new bunks, and carpet, and updated brake calipers and rotors, and touch ups anytime I got rust coming through the paint, 16 years, brackish water, and many highway miles just have not been kind to the old girl. I have all the equipment including the sand blaster, I just always seem to be short of time. Did you get your paint from Bass Cat or a local supplier?

I actually used a product called Monstaliner, its a bed liner.Its comes in a variety of colors and they had a color that was somewhat close to the original color.The nice thing about this product is that it has a shine to it.It was real easy to use.
