Largemouth Lou is getting ready to ship new motor supports. He is not sure the distance from rear BassCat trailer roller to motor mounts in trailering position and he is now making 2 sizes long and short. He has asked for the distance from rear roller to motor pins to ship correct size. My 2001 Jaguar with 225 OptiMax is in storage. Does anyone have this model and can measure distance would be a big help. He will need that distance from all who may want the toter
Just tell him the one BCB has works just fine as is.
Lou said Rick was interested in shorter one- correct?
We cant answer that one today?
Has anyone received information about length of toter that is needed for Jaguar?
I just sent him the measurement for my 2011 Puma with 8 inch slide master and its right at 28 inches, this would match the current position with the old transom saver installed. Im not sure of the 2 lengths he has, but am having him ship me one here. Ill let you know how it works on my Puma. Dave sheffield has been using one of his prototypes for almost 2 years now and i can say it is a very nice transom saver and offer the best of both worlds for the regular style transom saver and the motor mate attachment points. I look forward to getting mine.Doesnt truly answer your question but its gotta be pretty close to the older Jag with a 6 inch plate.
I just order one before Christmas and got it and it works great he just asked me what motor didnt ask length mine is on a 2009 Basscat puma FTD got mine cause I had a new lower unit earlier this year and the seals failed mercury said they r having problems with the assembly of them and was sending me a brand new one the one I got earlier this year was getting scratched by the screws in the tradiontal one and someone told me about Lous sure do love mineSent from my XT1080 using Yuku app
He sent me an email this am and the shorter version extend from 24-36″ which is going to cover any of the BCB in the lineup, Hyd or manual JP. Once i get mine ill post up a couple pics to show the difference between the new version and the old style for those who have not seen it yet.
Goood Morning Gang and thanks for the kind words. As Jay mentioned the shorter version seems to be best for the basscats. but if your close to that 36″ measurement it fully extends the little one and would recommend looking at the longer version which starts at 36 and goes out to 48″ Be sure to crank down a little on the two locking bolts and keep one as close to the top (U end) as possible.I would like opinions on if these even need to be adjustable, my initial thought was for the longer toters to fit more brands of boats and trailer combinations, but seeing as BassCat trailer and boat setups seem close to the same, would it be better just to make a standard size for them?? They would be cheaper for sure.Rick, I will be talking to you after the first of the yr and when things settle down here, have a few ideas to bring prices down..Thanks gang.If anyone needs to contact me please call, leave brief message if I dont pick up. Text works also as does emailLouis [email protected]
Ive been trailering boats for over 40 yrs. Purchased a new BassCat in 2013 and wouldnt use anything but the LockN Stow I purchased at the dealer. Great support without the trailer being involved.
