Some have done it, and the frame is allright. You will have to add tandems fenders, front axle, and tire/wheel set up. So that cost will be there. Plus the steel for the springs and hanger kit welding to the frame, as well as the fender brackets. The frame can be repainted and hide most of the paint seams if you and careful, and it will cost a few bucks. BCB

4000 lbs. dont see a problem unless your jack stands arent rated for much.

Did the same thing to a trailer last spring and did it as you are about to. Four jack stands and the trailer jack are fine. As Phil said though, make sure you use quality jack stands.

And safety block it so it wont hit with full force weight if it falls. Should be fine.

BCB, Do you mean that I should use saftey blocks at the 4 corners adjusted to the height of the trailer, what type of blocks? Thanks to all for your help.

Lay something under the trailer to prevent it from falling on you, wooden blocks or etc. Those jacks are good, though you are more valuable than a little block for safety sake.

Yes you can, though we think you can probably convert your single to a tandem as a do it your selfer if you desire. BCB

Just a funny reminder! One time in my early twenties unhook old caracal .run to the quickmart. Came back boat was gone. For a brief 10 minutes thought someone had stolen the little kitty. UNTILL noticed the boat had actually rolled 50 yards down a slight grade and the 20 yards into some thick brush. Mere luck I even seen it. Till this day I cant figure how it done this. I had park it in this place many times over. Luckily not even a scratch. But to date even in my garage over 20 + yrs later I chock my trailor tires front and back. FUNNY!
