2013 p2 . From my understanding I use 99 kia sophia disc pads. Is this correct?so the brakes have been squeaky when brakes are applied. So Ive pulled one of my wheels. Inside pad is over 3/4 worn. I know this is not uncommon for one shoe to be worn worse than the other. My question is does bcb use a semi metallic pad or ceramic pad? . Thanks 1stinLA! Not sure why they are worn so bad! Been thinking I got a little air in the system. Im a pretty good hand. And plan on checking it out well! The vault hub rotor is worn some but a nice even wear pattern. Plan on checking the thickness with my outside mics as well. Any idea what the limit is on the calipers? Mine are worn and grooved too on a 2013. If they were on my vehicle, they would require a rebuild,no question, just on the caliper wear.

Ive only removed my tire to where I could visually see the pads. Generally on auto rotars it is stamped. Im not sure as Ive not really look that close YET! just seen I needed pads. May have to call the manufacture for the specs. I find it odd that the pads are worn. Though I bought the used and not sure how many miles was on the trailor even though it was low hours on motor. I just replaced the pads on my trailer (2007 P2) with pads that I picked up from redneck trailer. In fact, they do come in a kit that has seals for the calipers, along with some bolts. Cost was less than 40 dollars and probably would have been even less if I would have only needed the pads. They also had the rotor assembly as well as hubs. I tried a set of pads from OReillys and they did not work out. These work just fine, since they are exactly the ones that are made for this application. I would think that any place that cuts auto rotors should be able to handle turning the ones for your trailer. Just need to make sure of the specs so they dont get cut too thin.

BCB sells the idler assembly, not the hub itself.

Geesh! I been fooling with brakes for yrs. These caliper bolt were tight all the way out. My question is are these a one time use bolt. In my world we call them TAPER LOCK. The taper lock is made to use once. Ive read on here that bcb had trouble with the caliper bolts loosening off. Mine were tight all the way out. Are these one time use bolts. Are do I need need just apply some loctite and move on. Rotors are a little worn but Im gna let them run this set of new pads. When they wear out Ill just buy new hubs. Red LokTite on the bolts, they are not one time use taper threads.

Drum brakes cross over to a 1971 Ford Torino front brake we believe. You only use half of the brake wheel cylinder rebuild kit, as drum brakes on a trailer only work going forwards. Cars work in reverse lightly and use two pistons, trailers only have one piston.

Some parts stores will swear a 1971 Ford Torino did not have front drum brakes. However they did…

HI realize this is an old post but this information may be helpful to some.

Having one brake pad worn and the other is ok is an indication of the rotor being warped. Highly recommend either machining the rotors or replacing them as the damage will just escalate and wear the seals from the vibration.
