Trailor slides

had a buddy put them on his trailer. boat ended up on the ramp when his partner hit the brakes too hard while backing down. these boats dont run too well on land. that is the only person i know of that has had them. are you wanting them for a specific reason i.e. shallow ramp? i have never had a problem loading/unloading any boat on carpeted bunks and after his experience i think the little friction is a good thing IMOBrad

Ive just heard way too many “stories” about those slides on the bunk boards for me to even think about using them. I never unhook the bow of my boat until the trailer is in the water at the depth that I plan to back it off the trailer. I fish by myself most of the time, so I get in, fire up the engine, then go up front and unhook the winch strap, then back the boat off. Probably not necessary at most ramps, but Id rather do that than take a chance on it coming off the trailer prematurely and again…I dont have the slides!

I had em on my old boats trailer, but I have a lot of really shallow launches and needed the slick bunks to help with launching and recieving. I am still getting used to the BCB trailer and usually am running back and forth to the truck when Im putting in alone to get the boat off the trailer. Just my experience with them. Not bad, but it depends on what your ramps are like and your most used bodies of water.- Chaz
