I recently got a replacement transducer from Humminbird for my console in dash mounted 2018 Helix G2 Mega SI as the previous transducer quit reading and was making very loud popping noises. The questions I have is the correct replacement and in the cables. I received a XM 9 20 MSI T from Humminbird (is the right transducer) to replace the broken one with??? Second when I got under the console of my 2018 Basscat to re-route the cables. I unhook the cable mgt box form the back of the unit and pull out my transducer cable only to find out that it has a pig tail following back up to a (dual beam) hookup and a (side imaging) hookup. My replacement XM 9 20 MSI T only has one cable form unit to transducer…

So do I hook the old one in the pig tailed SI port then re-install my new transducer and the dual beam goes to another thru hull transducer puck that I can’t see (I have looked)
Or do I just use the new XM 9 20 MSI T and do away with the previous pig tail ..

I really think the pigtail goes to a though hull transducer (the dual beam) and the other (side imaging) is my old XM 9 20 MSI transducer that has quit. Thoughts

That is the right transducer. It is a transom mount, Mega SI for Helix, with temperature. You are correct in that the other side of the Y cable (pigtail) is for the glassed in 2d transducer. Leave it as is. After you have fished the new cable from the transom to the dash, simply unplug the old SI connector from the Y cable, plug the new one in, and then re-connect the Y cable to the back of the head unit.

It is probably best to leave the old SI cable as is, rather than trying to pull it from the console to the back. It likely is tightly bound in the conduit, and, if trying to pull it through, may get jammed, and/or upset other wiring. Cut the cable somewhere in the rigging area, and simply remove the old transducer.

Yeah that was my thought. In previous cats it was pretty ease to pull the old out backwards and I would attach a string to it so as to pull the new one back. But it looks like this one is typed to the wiring harness in several place and will not budge. Thank you for the reply

That factory wiring is nuts. I had to cut a few myself this past week. I’m not to sure on the theory behind making these impossible to get out. I sure hope Basscat takes note of this issue and leaves the electronics wiring separate from the other stuff.
