Transducer Tie Down

Ok here is a question that I am sure will get some technical responses. I received my new FTD with a Transducer on the foot of the trolling motor…(as I requested). The thing is, it came only zip tied to the foot. I have always used the metal hose clamp to fasten the puck to the foot. I heard something about the metal clamp interfering with the magnets in the foot. Is this true, or is the metal hose clamp fine to use? Jamey

Caldwellj, BCB only uses a Zip Tie for delivery as there are a few methods for mounting this and we do not mount them for other than shipping purposes. We leave the preference to the individual owner as we do not like the large Zip Tie or the Hose Clamp which leaves a rough Tag End that is open to cut someone. We just let you guys figure out what you want to do! BCB

Thanks BCB for the info. With that said, what is everyone out there using to mount there transducers? Jamey

Use whatever works and is readily available. A large tie wrap works just as good as a hose clamp and vise versa.
