Topic: Traveling with seats in place

Should I trailer boat with seats in place or do I need to remove them to prevent wallowing out the holes?Thanks

I have not taken my back deck seat out in the last 7 years on two different boats and have had no issues.Ron

I take my seats out and lay the on the cockpit floor. I just makes sense to me that the road miles will either wallow out the bushings or crack them. I dont need the extra work for the minute it takes to lay them downBob

No way in H_LL I would do that. But hey, its all about experience. Ron Plates has been good and mine was bad. Got a front post stuck and it was hell and high water getting that sucker out. Got water in it(drivin in rain), a little rust, a little expansion contraction from runnin the road all year and there you go- STUUUCCCK. I am as ready to roll as anyone once the derby is done or because I am already behind getting home but Id pull em and chunk em in the truck til you unhook it.C.O.D. Jr. III

I tuck them away if for no other reason the to help keep seats protected from tar, stones, and who knows what other flying debris you can run into.

I rarely ever have the back seat installed. (I almost always fish by myself) The bike seat I always use and take out before towing the boat. I put both of them in the starboard side rod locker, when towing.
