I have only ran it once since my buddy let me borrow it. Impressions : Hole shot – Was as good or maybe just slightly better than 26 Trophy. Mid-rage – This is where I noticed a difference. It seemed to give the boat much more lift at 4500 rpm than the Trophy. It seemed I was running about 4-5 mph faster Top End – It seemed about 1.5 to 2 mph faster. Engine tone also seemed to be different. It sounded a little deeper toned and smoother. Not sure. I was on Falcon when I tried it, so I need to again test it on my home water to really check the full difference. However, when I asked him what he wanted for it, and the answer was $300.00. I call that sold ! Eric
Your experience is like most who have tried the Fury, including myself. Wait till the weather gets cooler. That thing becomes a fire breathing dragon . Tell your Buddy Ill give $300.01 for it! Glynn
A bargain!
Been waiting to hear some results on that prop.
Just a quick update on the Fury. I was able to test it on my home lake, Lake Austin in our Wed night jackpot last night. From my prior post, everything is confirmed. Slightly better hole shot, mid range is great,( a lot more speed at the same RPM.) Top End, it is faster. I had a stretch of wind ripples and quickly moved to 72 mph and still had some more coming. Hot and Humid, with 2 guys, that was faster than my trophy. The one major issue that I did notice for sure, is that this prop is Much more squirrelly at WOT than the trophy. I think this is do to even more bow lift and of course less boat in the water. If you like to fly your boat like a airplane, you will like it. If not it might scare ya….. I like it !
What about your RPMs ? Did they drop at all. I have a 26 trophy on a Jag turning 5450-5500. I was thinking of trying a 25 fury to keep the rpms up on my opti 225. If it turms the same I may go with the 26p. Thanks, BCC
To tell the truth, I really did not look at RPM. However, I would say RPM was the same. About 5450.
I have been waiting to hear some numbers myself on a Cougar with a 225 Opti. I have a Trophy 26P on my 07 Cougar FTD and have hit 74.6 on the GPS. I would love to have a Fury to try.

The Fury is a larger diameter prop than the trophy. The trophy makes up for this with an extra blade. But as you decrease the diameter slip will increase. Which can drop speed in the mid-range. Usually by the time you are wound out, you are way up on the pad, hull friction is down, and prop slip drops. My favorite chopper is a small-ear 28″ prop. At 5000 rpm it will run about 50-55. At 6000 it will break 82. If I remove the TM batteries, the TM, tackle, etc, at 5000 it will run 60+ and at 6200 it will break 85. Put a fishing partner in the boat and ouch. Top speed will be lucky to hit 65, because the small blades just slip too much. That is probably where your mid-range is improving. And as a note you will probably find that a different engine height might improve the top end a bit since a bigger diameter can stand more height. 2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
SGT 93 – I have a best of 75.1 GPS with My 26 Trophy, I would assume in the exact conditions I would have seen 76.5 ( not that much, but faster ) Oldtimer- your knowledge far surpasses mine on props. I will try to lift the motor a little and see what happens. Thanks, Eric
