I have been loaded boats for about 10 years. I know what I am doing but have a question. What trim height do you keep your motor at when loading your basscat? I have a 2012 p4 with a 25 fury and man that prop has some power. It sometimes makes the front of the bow pop up. I know I could have it trimed up just a little two much but I dont want to chew rocks or concrete with my prop since basscat trailers load shallow then most.Only reason is I have had the damn bow eye where the winch strap hooks go in front of the bow stop/guard!!! lolNo damage done, and yes I have the trailer at the correct depth in the water. Outside bunks a few inches out of the water.Beats the hell out of me??0 people like thisMORE richstadler Posts, 523, ||Registered Member

ya Im all the way down but i do keep my jack plate up when loading we have some bank fisherman that for some reason will use big rocks to prop there poles and just leave on the ramp when done and when water comes up they are just there to coast ya some money Jeff been on guntersville lately whats stage is the grass inLast edited by jbassertn on October 25th, 2012, 10:30 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I load my PIV with the outside bunks just touching out of the water, no issues. A SHO with a Fury will load the boat into the back of the truck if you want to!
I am kind of suprised at these comments. I always trim up pretty far and never have any loading problems. I like the prop just under the water because I am afraid of dragging the bottom. I have an 08 puma with a 26p fury and that prop will put the boat in the back of the truck!
I use trim too probably about the same as when Im trimmed on plane at WOT. Just a peace of mind thing for me, especially on steeper ramps. I dont usually have any problems except trying to climb out at my size! Overweight and shortlegged, a dangerous combination….96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Its all about trailer depth for me. I trim up just until the single trim piston takes over and have no issues granted the trailer is far enough in the water.
