Got my Cat out for the first time this year, and what a trip! Mt. Storm is a small lake 1200ish acre lake entering the eastern panhandle. The lake is at 3200 + above sea level, that has a coal ele. plant on it. The plant uses the lake for its cooling system, so discharging warm water back in the lake. Discharge temps were 65 F, Main lake 55F and back in the creek was 47F. There are SEVERAL wind turbines around the lake! So it is always windy! Sunday was no exception! This was the first time I had been to this lake. I have a FOM tourney coming up in April there so I wanted to get a feel for the lake, and see what I could find. With the wind blowing The lake had 3-3.5 foot top waves (which is big for WV). I have never had my cat on anything like that before. However the Cat did great! Once I got her on plane it was a smooth ride. She just ran across the tops as if it was smooth water! I was VERY pleased! We had a limit within an hour of fishing. We didnt caught anything big I had one just shy of 3 lbs. but a fun day on the lake! Question – I had a hard time getting the cat on plane! Im guessing it was due to the higher elevation. I didnt get to try my new prop, but I will next time. Here is the question: Im running a 96 PII 200 Mariner, New prop is a 25p Trophy Plus, Next time I get to that lake Ill have my trophy on. I got several diff. size plugs for it. Where should I start? Should I try With every open? or start with plugs in it? With the higher elevation do you want less exhaust in front of the blades or more? I was running a 25p Tempest this weekend prop was wide open. ThanksSteve
