Trolling motor ?

Slimm…I doubt that they do. You might get a couple of the holes to line up though. Someone will come along who knows better than I do though. A buddy of mine just replaced an older Motorguide with a MK. He couldnt get any of the holes to line up.

Thanks bill!! This motorguide I have on there now is killing me!! I have a hard time getting it to retract..

Try pushing down on the head unit when trying to deploy the motor.

I have to push down on the head to retract it.. It can get a little hairy at times.. The trolling motor is either 03-04 so I believe its time to upgrade.

Make sure that Foretrex is installed with spacers on top. The bracket lies so close to the top cap it will beat the gel coat.

If you want to keep the MG, loosen one of the corner bolts on a corner. The frame is bound in a twist and when you loosen the right corner it will free up. It is really that simple. MK will tell you the bolt holes interchange, though they dont and you can only use two at best.

My 2004 PClassic came with TE82 installed. I replaced with MaxxumPro and more recently a Fortrex and I was able to use all six bolts in the existing holes; guess I was lucky! I did have to take the side faceplate off of the Fortrex mount to access the bolt heads, but it only took me about ten minutes to swap trolling motors both times. As mentioned previously, I did cut a piece of rubber mat for a spacer between the topcap and base of the Fortrex mount. The Fortrex has been great. My only issue is that when retracted its slightly higher than previous motors and is a snug fit for my Deans cover.

I have a motorguide te 82.. Im looking to get a minnkota fortex.. Do the bolt holes line up for the mount?? Thanks slimm

Frank the fortrex sits up higher than the motorguide does. If its custom to a mg it wont fit the mk the same at least from what I have seen.

I switched from a MG to MK Fortrex a year ago on my 09 Cat. My Aqualon cover has difficulty covering the MK due to its height. I guess I am going to have to buy the new Sunbrella that, from what I hear, is ordered to fit the correct type of troller.

Well honestly if I go and clean the garage I wont need the cover.lol.For now I just dont want to drop more money right now but I like things right.

We would not try to use the same cover on both.
