Yes, you can use the same plug the only thing is you want straight 24v so DO NOT wire it the same. I am not sure how BCB does the 12/24 wiring but you want straight 24v.Which if you do it in the bilge is it + from battery 1 to the front and – from battery 2 to the front. Then hook a jumper from battery 1 – to batter 2 +…then the two wires in the front wire the same way on both side of the plug.I would recommend a test meter before plugging in the troller.Worse case scenario, I am sure Scott @ BCB probably has a diagram that will help…contact him at [email protected] Lasiter

BasscatRJ,If we installed it on a 2006 Puma, then they are 1/4″ 20 thread. We do not drill or tap mounts. We assume the square head you are speaking of are the foot pedal screws, and those sound like a factory mount. The foot pedal is where we think you are seeing threaded in the base plate, we do drill those out rather than run a smaller screw. They are tapped for a rubber mount or cup for those who leave them loose.If we missed something, let us know in more detail what you need. BCB

No, thats it exactly. I have 4 small rubber tipped screws with the new unit that I didnt have on the older unit and the instructions dont tell you where to use them. Now it makes sense that I know you drilled the foot pedal out for larger screws. thank you very much.

BCB,Do you drill the holes out of the base when installing a trolling motor? Im trying to swap trolling motors on a 2006 Puma and the screws that came out of my base are a tick bigger than the new holes. And it looks like the new holes are threaded but my old one is not? Also the old trolling motor screws have a square head design not a phillips or slotted but there were only two installed from the factory and only two holes drilled into the boat. Do I need to drill the new trolling motor holes out? If so what size hole and what type screws did you use? There are not any like these in the new trolling motor. thanks

It is really all about the angle of the dangle. On a trailer it is more difficult to maneuver in the opening.

I spent 2 + hours this morning removing and reinstalling my TM to replace the decketThings I will do next time1. place a thick nappy towel under the nuts and washers so they dont get away when you take them off2, I will epoxy the washer to the alum bracket and the nut to the washer.I have already enlarged the hole so I wont have to do the next time
