My boat has a 4 pronged plug-in for the trolling motor. There are 2 blacks, a red and a white hooked to it. The minn Kota trolling motor I bought only has a red and a black. How do I wire the plug for the trolling motor? It is a 70# 24V
As Mr. Swann stated. I bought my plug at the dealer recently. Its about a $50 item but if you gotta have it, you gotta have it. Chris Coupel Paulina, La.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.
has bcb seen the way the new phonex boat co. has wired there trolling motors without that cumbersom plug? i like it with the breaker in the battery box. any plans on going to something like that . it would be a great advancement
We do not like hard wired trolling motors for many reasons. We have seen fire issues in the past on hard wire trollers. You have to be able to either jerk the wires out, or unplug the troller. This has been done by many companies who have always returned to the Marinco plugs. Of course a few of those went to the smaller Marinco plug and returned to the larger ones as well. Tried and true system with lots of reasons to keep it. BCB
Call Richard tomorrow. Hell get it right for ya. If i remember correctly BassCat use just that one wire. But dont quote me…. Pro-Tec Productswww.protecproducts.com
How are your batteries hook up? If you have them hooked up in 24volt system(cable going from + on one battery to – on the other battery) then you use the 12 Terminal.
Use the same terminals as yo were using before. Notice there is no 36 label and the system is a 24/36, not a 12/24 like they were when that plug was designed.
