TRUCK GOT JACKED NO SIGN OF ENTRY

Walked out the door this AM clicked the key fob unlock for the Expedition in my drive way and didnt hear the “THUNK”. UH-oh …opened truck door and paper and crap thrown everywhere. Yep took my stuff and no sign of forced entry. Left some valuables and took others. Detective said something about a “Round key” it is available for all types of vehicles. They grind a key and it opens 80% of that type truck? REALLY!!! If the doors are opened by a key the “ALARM” is deactivated. So now this PRICK can open my truck ANY TIME HE WANTS TO? I have ordered security cams to cover my truck and boat but what can I hook to or put in my truck to stop this and alert me any time any where? Hope there is a droid thing to contact my phone I can get. You tech guys please HELLLLLLP!!!!!!!!

Not saying this is what happened but I have worked property crimes as a Detective for 4 years. If its a Ford take a VERY close look at your key entry on all the doors. Usually what they do is take a screwdriver and insert the flat blade into the keyed portion and then hit it. The door will unlock and open easily. This has been going on for about 3 years now in Texas. All F-series trucks are susceptible to this. All I can say is HIDE/LOCK/TAKE your valuables. Sorry this happened to you.Larry

Im sure they have an alarm system out there that when you trun it on if anything opens without you turning it off with the FOB its going to go off. Start Googling.

Aftermarket alarm. Call a stereo shop, they will know what works good. Screwdriver works on Bow-ties too!

I have the VIPER 5701 on my truck now after a couple break-ins/vandalism. I added a proximity sensor, high frequency sensor, and vibration sensor. Arming the truck is controlled only by my key fob. If the door is unlocked with a key or anything else, the alarm goes off, and it sets off an alarm on my key fob. If someone gets too close, it sets off a warn away alarm (chirps). If the glass is broken or someone uses a sawsall on my catalitic converter (which was stolen before I got the alarm) the high frequency sensor is triggered and the alarm goes off. If someone bumps it, the alarm goes off. Its quite secure.With the remote start, it was about 700 installed at a local car audio shop.
