trying to find best prop for basscat sabre ftd with mercury 175 pro xs

I like the 24 Fury with a 150 optimax. Numbers suggest the 25 may be too much prop unless it is worked. Several props work well with the Sabre FTD hull to include the trophy plus, tempest, and Fury.

This application can really be all over the board, though it sound like your a fraction high on engine height with that much loss from 1 to 2 people. We would focus on the Fury and Trophy. The Tempest is a good overall wheel for some Sabre hulls, though usually not 175s and not trying to maximize top end.

What is not mentioned, is the engine height–inches below the pad. To put it in the ball park, the inner part of the jack plate should be flush with the outer plate. Based on your numbers, it sound like the inner plate is higher than the outer plate. The fury does not perform well if run too high or trimmed too much. With a 150 optimax, can consistently see 65.5 to 66.1 solo. Other variables may factor in such as altitude. Have tried the 24 trophy plus and was not happy with it at all. What is amazing is no driver input in needed at 65 but trying to get that extra speed requires more effort than it is worth. Found that to be the case with a 2011 PII as well.
