Why would you put a 60A breaker in the same circuit as a 50A, knowing the 50A is going to trip first and the 60A would be useless.To the OP, the 50A in the jumper wire is there “if” the jumper wire is long enough to short back to ground, then it would trip, however it is still in the same series circuit as the wire to and from the trolling motor. I dont know if its a coast guard reg that makes Basscat, and other manufacturers, put the breaker in the jumper, however, if the jumper wire goes from post to post and has no chance of rubbing back to the other wires to create a short, then the breaker in the jumper wire is not needed. Even if it did short, since its all one circuit the main breaker should trip. The one 60A in the positive wire, apx 12 – 18″ from the positive battery terminal properly insulated is all that is needed in the trolling motor circuit. John
