Under voltage on an auto bilge.

The Float only senses and does not have input voltage for the pumps. The processor turns on the pumps, the float only tells it that it needs to. 5 Volts is the dash operation level.

Hmm, so now Im a little confused. Coming out of the wiring harnes in the bilge area at the pump location is a brown and a black wire. In assuming these connect straight to the pump. At the float switch coming out of the harnes is a brown wire with white stripe and a black wire. How should the float switch be connected to these two wires? Not sure at this point if my float is bad or not. When I raise it, I was expecting continuity but I dont get it when I connect my meter to both wires from the float. I did remove the wires on the float switch and I do not get continuity whe it is raised. That what made me think the float switch was bad. Puzzling thing was that only one wire was connected from the float to the black wire in the harness. The Brown/white stripe was dinsconnected. I assume one of the float wires belongs to the black and the other to the brown/white stripe, correct?Wannabe…
