I know there are a bunch of used boats on the market now, and I cannot explain why they arent moving other than price, and/or color. I have a 14 Jaguar listed for a friend, and it is gorgeous. The pics are horrendous and dont do the boat justice, which I feel is the case on some of the others listed. Go look at the boats in person if you are the least bit interested ! They all look better in person !http://www.impactfishing.com/ Has 6 ea. 13s, and 14s, and even one 15 model ! All I can assure you is the price is not going down on the new model year boats, and if you find the colors and equipment you want on a used rig you need to make an offer on it. Some have been on the market too long, and I feel they are a bit overpriced for what they are, but remember, the listed price is the “asking” price. Some of these guys really need to move the boats, others not so much and are testing the waters. Life is short, enjoy the time on the water fishing, instead of working on your boat !
Ive been watching the various sites that sell BassCats. There are a lot of boats available with good looking pictures. From experience, you need to see the boat in person even if the drive is long. Ive been thinking of putting my 06 Puma up for sale. An 06 with 82 original hrs. on the Optimax and not a mark on it. Trying to determine a price with all the boats available is harder than I thought. The range in price for BassCats of the same year is wide. The economy has rebounded and everyone is as flush as they are going to get so why arent used boats selling.?
Lots of great deals on the market right now but for guys like me it doesnt matter. The wife and I are expecting baby #2 in August and she wants me to wait on a new rig til next year. I had a bad feeling this was going to happen when I sold my old Cat a few months back….. oh well, Im excited about the new addition and not having a boat for a year will give me a lot more time to get some projects done around the house that Ive been putting off which means the wife will be happier when I do start shopping for the new rig.
so why arent used boats selling.?IMHO, They are, but…Some are just priced too high. Some are just not popular colors. Some are not equipped properly(popularly). And then some are priced too high for what they are…….but some arent, and have barely been broken in. Its up to the buyer to make the deals. We are six months remaining in the 15 model year, and havent even discussed the improvements of the 15 model year boats. Guys need to move their used boats, 16s will be out August 1st !And there will be some more surprises for us then, Im sure !Last edited by dbasketman on January 29th, 2015, 8:28 pm, edited 3 times in total.
Used boats are moving quite well. There is a definite threshold on the limit value and there are always reasons or conditions as to why any one boat is not selling. We have a few we have not moved, though honestly we have not tried hard. Those are listed with our dealership base in most cases. Model year starts August 1st in 2015. BCB
If I had a bigger garage, Id be in the market for a used PIV. But it will have to wait. lol13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

I know of 4 or 5 on my site that have sold in the last 3 weeks or so. Ive already gotten several calls on my 15 and its not even time to sell. Plus a buddy of mine has a solid commitment on his 15. And another friend has a solid commit on his 14. As said above, the price isnt coming down. Crude oil would have to get down to $10 barrel for that to happen.
Im thinking I cant get any movement on my boat because Im Canadian and trying to sell into the us market maybe if I offered some Canadian beer as an incentive that may work

Oil can not come down enough in the short term to effect new boat pricing.
