Just wanted to share this. I am the Chief of a local volunteer fire department and last nite (2-13-13) we were called out for a search and rescue call on the Pascagoula River for a hunter lost in the woods. A little after my arrival, it was apparent that we needed more boats and more people, and not living to far away from there, I went and got my new BassCat. The river is on a quick rise due to heavy rains north of us so it was crucial that we find the man. Long story short, the man was found safe a couple hours later. The reason of my post is I loaded 6 men in my boat. Im estimating the total weight of the men at 1500lbs. We left the ramp at 10 p.m. and with my 150 hp 4 stroke Merc I easily plained it off and made the 2 mile trip up the swollen river to where the hunters boat was located. I was a proud BassCat owner because of the way the firefighters, MS game and fisheries officers, and all the responders bragged on my boat. I was able to carry twice the amount of people to the search area than any other boat. But most of all, we got the job done. The hunter was found and everyone made it back to the landing safe! As a firefighter, it always makes me feel good when we have good endings like this, and Im also proud that I was able to use my BassCat Margay to assist in this response.Last edited by basinchief on February 14th, 2013, 12:18 pm, edited 1 time in total.
