Question about vapor lock….what is it and what causes it?Yesterday was my 3rd time out in my 1998 Pantera II, it has a 200HP Mariner I was fishing a tournament and my partner and I were heading in for the weigh in. I was running along just fine when the motor just died on me. It would start back up and stall . One of the other club members came along picked up my non-boater and our fish and left me behind. I kept trying to start the boat with no luck, even switched from one gas tank to the other. After about a 1/2 hour the motor fired right up and ran like nothing ever happened, it idled fine and ran strong. Once I got back to the ramp I turned it off and on a few times and it was fine. Few guys mentioned it sounds like vapor lock. Is there any way to avoid this if it is vapor lock? Thanks in advance for any help.
