I have a o7 pantera II with a 09 200 yamaha vmax hpdi series 2 which fury prop should i try
25p Fury and then a 26p. I can turn a 26p to 5800-5900 on a 200 SHO. If I remember correctly that boat setup you have liked a Yamaha 25M prop as well.
Bama96, are those numbers with you by yourself, live wells empty or is there more weight? I have seen several of your posts and cannot get close to your numbers. I am running a 06 Classic/200 Opti with a 26 Fury. I can get to 73-74 mph, 5550-5600 rpms by myself, but if I add a second person or fill the live wells my speed goes down on to 70-71. Where is your jack plate set at? Thanks for your help. Troy West
2011 P2 200 Yamaha SHO, Full gas tank, 10 rods and reels, 12 Plano boxes,8 worm bags, 5 Starlite plastic storage boxes, fire extinguisher, 4 life jackets, motorcyle helmet, BCB jacket, Walls Blizzard proof coveralls, 4 Coozes, 3 Cabelas Group 30 AGMs, 6 packs of crackers, 4 Power Ades, 5 bottles of water, 10lbs of ice, and my 65″ 260lbs. Best run turning a 26P Fury 5900 77.6 MPH GPS. My boat is a consistent 75-76 MPH boat. I recorded a 10 minute run where I was over 76 the whole way. Raise your motor and get the hull out of the water and let it eat. Remember do not over trim the P2! The SHO is 4.2L. Theres no replacement for displacement. The SHO is big but has the ponies. Forgot to say I am running my boat at 1.5″ below pad on my best runs. Will be at 2″ below pad next week with full wells and my partner. Will let you know what I get. Troy where is your motor? Have you tried raising it? How is your steering torque at higher speeds? That Classic should smoke with that 200 Opti.Last edited by Bama96 on March 25th, 2011, 12:22 am, edited 2 times in total.

Correction. That ten minute run had several 77 mph holding patterns with the top speed of 77.4. Get your facts straight Lewis. Your run was more impressive then you stated. However you were right about one thing it did stay above 76 for the whole return trip back.
Bama96, I have been as high as 2 1/4″ below the pad but my prop blows out as it breaks over. Steering torque is pretty bad when trimmed up at that height. I am a little weary of raising my motor up that high. I also have a problem with porpoising when the boat is fully loaded but it is better when the engine is jacked up higher. Do you have a hydraulic or manual jack plate? I have talked to PA about a hydraulic plate but they are a little expensive. Not sure if I really need one. Thanks for the help.Troy West
Bigt33, Ive got an 08 P II with 200 optimax. Our lower units are not designed to run Bama96s numbers. Our design is supposed to be good up to about 76. I tried a 26 fury with 3/4 tank of gas 7gallons in the saddle tank a few rods, baits ect…. me (260+), passenger (175) it ran 74.7 at a lower setting than I usually run my 26 tempest. I dont think our l/u design will allow the height that Bama is running though I do plan to do more testing at higher engine heights to see what happens, when I can get my hands on another 26 fury.
