I use Meguiars Boat Wash. As mentioned, Dawn, and other grease cutting dish detergents will strip the wax. At the beginning of the season I use Dawn with a drop of ammonia to strip it down and then put the Pro Tec sealant on. Then the rest of the season I use the Meguiars for washing.

I use both Meguires and Protec

I seldom wash my boat. If I get some mud on it from trailering, I will use Dawn dish soap. I always wipe it down with either Bassboat Saver or Protec every time I take it out of the water. I use Bassboat Saver if its dirty, I think it takes dirt and scum line off better than Protec. But, Protec seems to give it a much better shine without any streaks.
