Just wondering why the floor drain is not further back in the floor where all the rain water settles,or have the floor recessed a little so it all would drain

It actually is recessed and it is sunk into the stringers. Depending on year model there are differences. Since your login says Cougar FTD the age might make a difference though most are as you mention. The amount of recess is the challenge and making the area where it drains level and on an angle. The floor is recessed towards the center and the outsides are higher as is the front edge. Drain to the rear and if it were up to us the entire center section would be one large drain lengthwise to the sump ballast area 6″ wide.

Mine is a 2015 model,it just seems like water stays in my floor for a long period of time after it gets wet

It would be nice if there were drains in the corners. I usually have a good bit of water stand there.

Yeah drains in the corners would b nice but no big deal I dont guess,still by far best boat I have ever owned.Bass Cat from now on!!

The floors stay wet because they are the lowest point and have the least air.
