Just like te title says, where did it go?
We were going to comment this afternoon though it was gone. The poster must have struck the post. The reply posts in reference were pretty well along the lines of our opinion. PS: We were all bouncing off each other in house yesterday afternoon, trying to figure out which one of us struck it, though no from BCB did.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on January 5th, 2010, 3:14 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Probably just as well.
BCB, Id still like to here your comments- if its appropriate to do so.
Probably Bill. BCB just keep building fine quality boats for your family members. That is all we ask for.
Id love to pay $200 for another G Loomis GLX too, but theres only 1 way that can happen. Cheapen the product. Obviously we all want a more affordable boat, but thats not why we buy BCB. The long term quality we all demand, simply involves more than shiny gel coat, and I for one, wont ever purchase what I consider to be a second tier boat. I may be looking at BCB with “love goggles”, but when I sold my 90 Pantera II, I had people calling me non stop. Perfect gel coat, seats, carpet, and a solid transom sold the boat for me, not the price. Looked at any other 17 year old (at the time), boats lately? Granted, I probably wont ever buy a new Bass Cat, but a 2-3 year old one is always right in my wheel house, and I know its as solid as the day it was made. Besides, do you think KVD would be fishing out of a Nitro if he was paying for a boat? He gets 2 a year + his contract, and it shouldnt take 2 boats to fish the Elite Series. OK, “love goggles” off now.
There are different price ranges for new boats predicated on the length, motor horse power, electronics and most importantly quality. I used to own a Nitro boat, purchased it at a very reasonable price and at that time had no idea of what to really look for in a bass boat but the price was the determing factor. I had some service issues, for the first two months it sat on and off at the dealer ship and the Nitro people coundt repair the problem and one of their service mechanics told me to take it to a local dealer and get it repaired and gave me the name of a independent Mercury dealer. I contacted them, dropped off the boat on a Monday and got a call on Wednesday the boat was repaired, in two days not two months and it was fixed. In the future any problems I had I went to the independent dealer and paid for the service as it was worth my time to do so. I would not recommend the Bass Pro Shops in my area for service. Great place to shop for fishing equipment but thats about it. One day I got to drive and fish from a BCB that was and 18 ft. boat, mine was a 19 ft.boat and I couldnt believe the difference in quality, performance and ride, I was really impressed with the ride. I made up my mind that the next boat would be a cat and while a brand new one might have been a far stretch for me I found a 2007 Puma that was like brand new with only a few hours on it and I was lucky to buy it and believe me it is a real bass boat. My neighbor just bought a Nitro Z-8 and we were fishing out of my boat on 2 ft. swells and he couldnt believe how smooth the ride was, I let him drive it and he was really impressed. Bottom line, buy what you can afford but get a great boat like a Bass Cat new or used and you will not be disappointed, you get what you pay for. The market place can cause prices to drop but in some products the quality and service will suffer as well! Beware. Just my two cents.
I dont think there is anybody on this board that would go back to what they had before even if the price was a lot cheaper. I know I wouldnt. I thought my Tr21 was great until I got my Cougar. As far as I am concerned I am BCB forever!!!!!!
Theres always been an unwritten rule here that we do not bash other boat brands products out of respect for their owners, and employees. Its just the right thing to do. Kudos to the original poster for removing the post, simply not a good subject, and certainly not indicitave to BCBs stature in the industry. D.
Had a 17ft nitro for couple years 97model with a 1978 evenrude. Boat fished great was very good in rough water.sold it for 500 more than I paid. I am one of those people that try and do there own repair work and if a little duck tape works hey i get to go fishing. After I sold the Nitro I bought a 1996 PanteraII 150 evenrude Great boat I have done several repairs pump wiring etc. same as Nitro. I had pulled my seats out to have them recovered at a local shop”trying to save a few bucks they wanted more than if i order covers from BassCat” My 6yr old at the time wanted to go fishing. I set all the seat loose in the boat we took off across the lake got to where we were going the passneger back rest had blown out. I called BassCat the next day ,Rick answered the phone “thats cool itself”Told him I need new seats told him what had happened. He took my vin # I had new seats in a week. I have called several times over the last couple years with issues “BP dash etc BassCat has always been there with the right answer. I have been trying to up grade boats in the last few months. I called BassCat about one listed on boats for sale board again Rick answered told him what boat I was looking at he told his opion. Then he started asking me ? about how I fished how often I fished? I thought oh man here comes a sales pitch for a new boat. Then to my suprise he told me what kinda BassCat would be “in his opion” best for my situation. and it was older Jag. That is one reason I will always fish out of a BassCat. bottom line for guys like me if you take care of your boat it will take care of you. If the boat company takes care of there boat owners new or used the boat owners will take care of them. Thx BassCat for taking care of your family
