Topic: What is the best prop for a P2

I am about to buy my first Bass Cat. I am going to buy a P2 with an Pro XS or an Opti what is the best prop for these combos. I have had a 200 Yamaha on a 20ft Blazer for the past 10 years.What size jack plate comes standard on a BassCat. Thanks for any input this forum and costumer service is what sold me on Bass Cat.

I would put a 27 Tempest on it, but thats me. You can only get an Opti. There is no Pro XS in the 200 hp. It though is pushing the 10% over on law. A 6″ jack plate comes standard, but this may change for 09. Good luck with purchasing your first Cat. Youll really like it!

Did they have an 200 ProXS in 07 because I thought I looked at a 07 P2 with an 200 XS could be wrong.

At one time there was one, but it would have come from race and it would have had 1.62 gears. It wouldnt be something you would want on a Cat.

Phil, from what I hear, is a fantastic driver who gets everything out of his boats. I own a 25 Tempest and a 26 Trophy. I find the Trophy is fantastic in cooler weather while Im turning the Tempest now in hot weather. I think with someone of my driver skills put a 27 Tempest on would have some RPM issues (too low).

I am running a balanced and blueprinted 27 tempest. Ran the other day in a tournament w/ partner, all his gear and mine, full tank of gas, livewells full, 93 deg. air temps and 85.4 deg water temps, and turned it 5500 rpms hitting gps speed 71.8. Light load it should hit73 or better and in cooler water temps it should get better also. I have 3 large plugs in now and that seems to be the best combo on the holseshot which is pretty good even w/ a good load. I have an 07 PII w/ a 200 opti.

i have not had an opportunity to try one or i would. everyone that ive heard from so far seems to like the fury.
