I found this in the bilge while doing a little work this weekend. Any idea what it is for?This on an 2004 cougar. Thanks for any help.

well it has not been hooked up in the last 9 months I have owned the boat, and it looks like it hasnt been hooked up for awhile. Could it be something off from the smart craft data wires that would feed to one of the gauges? If not, I will just eliminate it. It appears to be a 3 wire trailer harness. Maybe it went to a trailer light kit at some point. There is not a trailer light kit on it now, and all the trailer lights work.thank you for your input. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What are the other ends of the wires connected to?

I am unable to determine, or should I more accurately say, that I dont want to tear anything else up trying to figure it out. They are tied up in a large group of wires that heads to the gunnel going to the front of the boat. This is an 04 boat that has had a fair amount of after product put on it. Sorting through it all has been a great learning experience. Maybe by a process of elimination Ill come across those wires at the helm.

Just my thoughts. It looks like the two exposed pins are to power up a device where the covered pin is the ground.My curiosity would have me attach power to the leads to see what device if any turns on.Post what you find.

Any bilge or livewell pumps nearby? 3 prongs makes me think ON and AUTO with Ground.
