For 150 HO Etec 150 G2 and 200 Etec G2.
The one with a 200 on it I just saw at a boat show had a 3 inch I believe. Dont know on the 150
Hmmmm, not 8″ transom, interesting. Good info. Being curious as a cat I wonder why??? Basscats transoms are second to none.
If I remember correctly the G2s already have a good but of set back to them. But I will defer to Bass Cat on it.
Flyswatter, You are getting everything you want on that boat. Max out the HP and you want say I wish I would have gotten the 200. What is a few more dollars. Your fishing retirement will think me. John

Rick has created this boat to appeal to several markets. I predict 63-64 with 24p Raker2 prop. Will not be selling anytime soon. This is it and Im not spring chicken. Hole shot will be right there with 200hp motors I bet. This will be the one I keep after owning 4 basscats. Just gotta figure how to order a boat from Brech but get a Evinrude mounted. Im sure I can something worked out. (Oops, typing on an iPhone and thumbs)Last edited by Flyswatter on February 25th, 2018, 4:30 pm, edited 2 times in total.
I am sorry that you took my post wrong. I did not mean to say that you did not know what your were doing. Just that down the road why look back. If you have something to prove with the 150 go for it. I have always enjoyed your post on your Sabre. I sure I will enjoy your post on the Classic. John
No, negative energy here. I appreciate your comments. I know you are trying to help me out.Trust me I”m looking forward and this will be my last bass boat. 73-75 doesnt appeal to me anymore. Rick built this boat for a reason to be run on a 150 and I will be seeing a shorter length Ranger at 188″ in the rearview mirror with a similar 150 setup. Also, the Pantera Classic will almost be a foot longer. Love the creative layout on this boat top to bottom. Huge front deck and longer more stable in my opinion that will rise quick with this hull. I know the torque on the 150 HO Etec G2 will get me on plan in seconds.Last edited by Flyswatter on February 24th, 2018, 2:10 am, edited 1 time in total.
Hmm, we dont know if the factory has hung a new G2 on a Pantera Classic, and we will have to visit with the production staff on this one. Pantera Classic models run good with the 200 engines, and have more power struggles with the 150. Propellers are critical to loads and performance ranges from upper 50s to just ticking 60s loaded.
Flyswatter, Let me kinda explain about looking back. I am 78 years young, Back in 2013 I wanted to buy a Bass Cat. Could not make up my mind. between a Sabre FTD and a P11. I live in a HOA where you can not park any thing outs side every thing has to go in the garage. Did all the research, When we built our house I made the garage 25 feet deep. I still could not make up my mind. Everything said the P11 would go in there. There is no dealers around Austin so I was in a pickle. I went with the Sabre FTD. Come to find out the P11 would fit well in my garage. Dont get me wrong I love my Sabre FTD with a 175 pro-sx. It will run faster than I can drive it. I always know that the power is there if I need it. The Big But is I will never know how I would feel if I had gone with the P11. There will always be that what if factor. You will just have to go with what is best for you. John
