Ive seen several post of people asking about what to do with the hole in the console after moving the sonar to ram.Heres an idea what I just did. Its a glove box I got from West Marine. They onlycome in white so I painted it with plastic paint. The paint actually has some gold flake in it so matches the slate console. Excuse the dirt – I havent cleaned up yet. Just did this today.

Thanks – first time I tried anything like that and it worked out pretty well.fishntrox – you mean the cost of the glove box? $110

Thanks bass 1958 and yes I meant the glove box. I guess I just had a brain fart. It seems to be happening more and more since I am getting older.

Ive never been a fan of the trend for recessed depth finders because of the lack of adjust-ability and space constraints should one decide to upgrade to another unit of a slightly different size dimension in the future.Your re-model idea is simply friggin brilliant!

That is a great Idea. Kinda makes me wan to ram mount my 998. Ill leave it in console but if I ever decide to ram mount it ill keep this in mind. Job well done sir.
