What Year Do you think this boat is? And what would the Value be?

I have recently acquired a boat via trade. I have a bill of sale but dont know details of this boat. I am sure you guys have ways to tell what year this boat is. The boat I have is a Bass Cat Pantera II with a 200 HP Mercury Motor. It has a Trolling Motor on the front with a third battery in the back well next to the motor. Two batteries on one one on the starboard side. Trailer is double axel with breaks. What Year would you guys guess this boat is from the pictures? Also what would you estimate the value ball park be for this boat? Sorry I am a total newbie on this but I havent had experience with a bass boat since the Old Skeeter that My grandpa had. I have the boat where I can take pics that may be needed for better identification. I also have a new set of seat cushions that have not been installed sitting in a box in the boat under the cover.Thanks for the help.Bobby

Sam, Thanks I will look for it. Will it be above the Rub Rail on the outside? I know on a different boat I have it is engraved in a plastic plaque should it be similar? I am going to say 95 through 97. I cant remember when they raised the seat backs up. Look under the rub rail on the right side if you are standing behind the boat. Should be the last 2 numbers in the set. It will be about 1/2″ to 1″ below it. Take a pencil and paper and hold the paper on it and rub the pencil across it and it will show up on the paper. Also, if it hasnt fallen off look at the front of the trailer and there should be a sticker by the spare tire of when the trailer was made.Last edited by Joey on October 27th, 2010, 5:34 pm, edited 1 time in total.

The XRi motor is not a 97

Joey, You nailed it. ending number 95 on the VIN. tswanson, do you think that is the motor that came with the boat or newer.What do you guys think is this a good boat?

That is quite possibly the original engine. This was a good boat in the day and a good fishing combo still for many.

Thanks for the help guys.I guess my next stop is to take it in to get winterized. I want to make sure and take care of it so when I sell it nothing acts up. The previous owner said he took it out 2 weeks ago. Looks like our first freeze will happen later this week here in Northwest Arkansas. Anything else I should take care of at this point other than making sure the cover is tight for the winter. My guess is the market to sell is in the slow season till spring.

Just put additive in the fuel and put it up for winter. Let the engine down to drain, and make sure the boat is dry. There is not any oher winterization you should need.

And dont take it out for a ride…. If you do, you are never going to be able to sell it because you will be in love……
