Ordered $100k puma sts with a boat cover in December. Here it is almost October and still no boat cover. I find it hard to believe that in 10mos Basscat can not get a boat cover. I keep getting the push back answer. Well I can promise next time I go to buy a new boat it will not be a Basscat. You guys need to get your stuff together.
Our vendor Aurora Canvas is backed up that far. The covers are custom and we definitely understand the covers not being available. The backorder just is very long, as Aurora is a great cover and they are just covered up.
Boat orders today we are suggesting people look at local options as we totally understand frustrations regarding covers. We do suggest you keep the towing covers and we would be glad to assist with another towing cover should yours be tattered.

Sir, I checked Aurora website, they had “1” surplus cover listed for a Puma STS, if that’s what you ordered. Plus many others at a discounted price. If you got the hots for a cover go there and make the dealer adjust your cost!!
Wait until the TPS goes out on your ProXS

I’m really glad to see this post. I was just about to start my own post regarding the long delay in my boat cover. I put my Puma STS order in last September of 2021. I received my boat June 7th 2022. I was told the cover would follow about 6 weeks at the most. The last update in August was November. This is 100% unacceptable. But what has me furious was my call to the factory. Sure, I expected the typical excuses of the pandamic, labor shortages, material sourcing. Blah, blah, blah. But I was told by the BXB parts representative they would refund my money and I can go elsewhere. Yep that’s right. I cannot express how angry I was and I let them know it. If I would have known I was going to have this delay I surely would have sourced a boat cover myself in February of 2021.
Lately I simply get no response from my Emails. In an email a few days ago expressed my frustration and why I need my cover ASAP. BCB response? Crickets. I’ve really tried to be patient, professional, and understanding. I hesitated posting what I’m about to say. This is not my last vass boat. My next boat will NOT be a Bass Cat. The boat has been fantastic with only minor issues. However, this type of delay and how it has been handled has me very frustrated. It’s enough for me to go elsewhere.
This is a vendor purchased part we do no manufacture. We totally understand frustrations and we have worked to find supplemental vendors as recently as yesterday.
We wish we had that foresight to have known backlog was crawling in reverse, when many of these boats were ordered, to give you that option. At one time in recent weeks the cover company was at 40% staff in the sewing department. They have had two cycles due to CoVid and it had been challenging for them.
The cover vendor does appear to be making progress and we hope to be within a more reasonable backorder soon. We also are giving them forwarded orders ahead of production, they are just too far behind to operate and provide even several weeks out.
We know our apologies are not enough, though, at this volume, we have no other quality cover options today.

If I were you I’d check on the availability of that cover and maybe make a deal on that one and a refund on your boat deal. Many other covers at discounted prices on that website for those who are looking.

A custom cover is just what it implies. Custom, designed for my boat, with my options, electronics, trolling motor, and moreover, the dual console. I seriously doubt that cover will fit my boat’s specs exactly. That is why BCB orders these covers 6 weeks prior to the build date. This is done because no other spec changes can be made. Again, I simply want what I paid for and ordered. Yes, I’m PO’d. But I really appreciate your information. Thank you.
