I was trying to polish my wheels on my new Eyra, and they are tarnished something fierce!!!!Is there any recommendations to polishing these Rocca Wheels?I have tried mothers and Black magic.. and these things still look stained and as if acid was poured on them.Is there warranty or anything on the wheels?Mo
The best stuff I have found for my wheels is Purple Metal Polish. It is made by Califronia Customs..It is great stuff we use it on our motorcycles also.
If it is the same thing thats on my wheels, it looks like oxidation correct? When I got the boat home i figured it was just road grime from the trip to AR, then washed the boat/trailer and realized the finish of the wheel looks like it has oxidation occuring, polish does not help. I figured Id wait to see if it has gotten any worse, and it has not, but still an eyesore when looking at it up close. Ill post a pic tomorrw and see if its the same issue you are having.
Mothers Mag and wheel polish worked wonders for mine. You have to follow the instructions though, and it does require a lot of work, but the outcome was amazing! Mine looked like they were ruined, but after applying this they look new.
That always worked on mine…Good luck!Judd Lasiter
If his is like mine, This is not something the powerball or any other type of polish is removing, trust me ive tried. It truly looks like whitish off colored spots are on the wheels, these are not old wheels that have been in the rain, the lakes, the rivers and get a film developed on them, it is something else. They are/were new wheels when frst noticed. Ive not really thought much about it till this post started and was wondering if his looked the same as mine i will try and see if i can get it to show up in photos tomorrow.
Send a pic to Service and let them get input from the wheel mfg.
The Mod wheels on my current boat are somewhat tarnished as well. I noticed it when I got home from Texas with the boat, the day I bought it. ( Although they have not gotten any worse in the year and a half that Ive had the boat.) Same thing happened to the Mod wheels on the Baycat I had for a while. I just figured it was the nature of the beast. Ive used Mothers and the power ball, until my arms almost fell off. It made little difference.
I will take a pic and post it tonight. JSLAW: correct.. that thing that gets me is that the whole wheel is not impacted.. that is the part that really makes them look so bad.I am thinking that the brake may have gotten so hot that they change the “metalurgy” in the wheel. The reason I say that is because the rear axle ones look far worse than the ones on the front axle. The rear axle has brakes. Frotn axle does not.Or maybe there is something corosive with the brake dust.Dunno.. but will post pics tonight.Mo
Ok as a last ditch try after using two other kinds of metal polish, i went this AM and got the Blue Magic metal polish cream, and much to my surpise it cleaned the wheel right up here is a before pic not sure if this is what yours looks like or not: Here is an after pic that took about 5 minutes of hard pressure polishingThe bad part…now i need to spend the next few hours polishing these wheels up so they look shiny again, but am happy to see this product works. Hopefully this is the same issue as you are having, advanced auto has the blue majic metal polish cream.
