Topic: where should I get rebuilt lower unit from?

Hi guys, well after about a year of not having a lower unit on my boat, Im finally ready to get one. When I asked some questions before about an L1 lower unit vs M2 (want the M2 to handle the Florida weeds, the L1 not so good at that), some people mentioned I should look at getting one from Riverside marine. Is that the general consensus of the best place to get one? I saw a place online called Crowly marine that offered a 1 year warranty vs Riversides 6 month warranty. Guy at the ramp suggested I do an SEI for $850 with their 3 year warranty (the mechanic here said I should order 2 of them so I dont have down time when the first one breaks down)…. also dont think SEI offers the M2 style.2005 Evinrude HO originally had an L1.2005 Puma DC any other thoughts or suggestions?Thanks

First off- riverside is where my brp motor was worked on. Second off- owner and I are good friends. Obv bias. Sei- no way. Chinese trash metal, gears under and mag are look like particle board. Great warranty but down often. Other place- dont know anything about them. Longer warranty speaks to standing behind product. Could be brp gears, may not be. Riverside- longest experience, oem parts, shorter warranty it sounds like. All lower units available. Id just call riverside and ask Josh or Tom(owner) the difference between riverside and other source you mentioned. SEI is so cheap and bad youd have to see it to believe it.C.O.D. Jr. III

Im not an E-rude guy but do know enough to add that you should avoid SEI. RH
