Take the time to think about your day and those innocent lives who lost all 8 years ago. Some things we never forget, and we never should. BCB
I was a captain of a corporate Lear 60 leaving Houston for Washington Dulles that morning and around Atlanta area when it came over the radio of the attack. Since we were in the Atlanta air space we had to land in this area. We couldnt go to our destination or return to our point of departure so we landed in Birmingham Al and stayed until friday when they finally allowed us to return to Houston. Ill never forget……. Sitting at my desk at an intelligence agency when I was told. Turned on CNN and watched it all. The folks gathered around all available TV and speculated on who did it with the anger steadily rising. Things started moving quickly after 9/11 and life became a blur for more than a year. We all kept the images and anger with us as we identified the bastards and got on with the job. I am very proud of the effort given by mine and the related agencies. Revenge wont be complete until we get Bin Laden. Im retired now but the memory of that day will be there forever. LOZman
I was in my office at home, my wife called me into our living room to see what was happening on TV. I always remember 9/11 as my wife and I were married on that date 25 years ago.
I was at work, on my birthday and helping to clean up close to a 250 thousand dollar debt in an inventory that I had no part of. Another one of those jobs that went very under appreciated.
Taking care of cancer patients at a local cancer clinic. There was a tv in the waiting room and one of the office staff called me out front to see the first tower on fire. Then watched on live tv as the second plane hit. We had several veterans that were literally trying to get enough strength to serve again, if needed. I will never forget.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
I was in Tucson AZ, awaiting some Learjet customers to come pick up their brand new Learjet. They arrrived, but could not even test fly their new jet. Sat pretty much glued to the TV.
On the USA and Canadian border, fishing Lake of the Isles at 1000 Islands, Saint Lawrence and Lake Ontario for the BASS Northern Open. I hung out late that morning rather than depart at pre dawn and watched the NY news. They were telling those going to work that it was the last beautiful day of the year, and it would be a great day to just stay home or go to Central Park. Fortunately many of those office workers did stay home and apparently they had a high absence. God preempted and lowered our losses his way and knew to do so. As the first jet impacted the trade center, a cabin remodeling worker came down the bank a few yards and said, “a jet just hit the top of the trade center!”. I went back fishing and in a few minutes he came out yelling, then another one had hit the other tower and we were under attack. The rest unfolded before us and we all were and still are in awe. We stayed for practice through that next day and it was absolutely gorgeous with no wind on Ontario. Almost glassy smooth, no jet trials or noise overhead and no other traffic. Lots of solitude. They canceled the event that morning and we headed out. Ive said before, it was the first time to see convoys of troops under armed escort, locked and loaded with sentry at every stop. There was no hesitancy on this mission. Driving home the skies were crystal clear and no contrails. Now like LOZ said, lets finish the job. I was at work – “oilfield”- when I heard on radio ,called wife told her turn on news see whats up. Later she called told me we had been attacked.Well i got off early that day to carry my wife and oldest son to the doctor and to the hospital for a tour of the delievery area for my oldest son. We where expecting or second child in 2 weeks. Went to her doctor andwas looking out the window telling my son what had happened and why there where no plains in the sky.The doctor called us in and informed us we needed to head across to the hospital that we would be having a baby in next few hrs.Well let me tell you with all that went on that day GOD still had time for my family and blessed us with a healthy boy COLBY. I posted his pics on here from some of his triumps. We all need to step back at times and remember what GOD does in our lives even when there is so much tradegy going on. GOD BLESS OUR TROUPS Thank you GOD for my family and friends and the many blessing you have given.
I was sitting in a chapel service at Gardner-Webb University. I dont even remember what the message was that day but I do remember the feeling I had when I walked outside and someone said a plane (only one at the time) had crashed into the World Trade Center. My heart goes out to the families of all of the victims. I woke up this morning and listened to the victims families read all of the names of the lives lost that day. We will never forget…Andy Greene Greene Boat & Motor 828-286-2290 http://www.greeneboats.com
