Which FXP prop for my 2010 PIV with a 200 SHO?

Getting ready to buy one just want to make sure its the correct one.Currently running the Yamaha T-1 25p. Best I could ever do was 66 mph @ 5500 rpms. It didnt seem to matter how much I raised or lowered the motor, the speed never went up.Trying to get the motor up to the the 6000 rpm max and hit 70+. Both the FXP 24 and 25 have been recommended. This prop has been out long enough that Im hoping someone can tell me their experience. Im leaning toward the 24 just because the 25 is probably too close the T-1 I now have. Am I wrong to think this?BTW, I absolutely love this boat and motor. Both have been great! Dont see why I would ever want anything else. Finally made that trip down to the factory and got a BCB decal for the truck because I was too cheap to pay for shipping.

Kramr,Where were on the trim gauge? YOu have to be at 3/4 full trim for the SHO. From my limited experience Id would not go above 24p prop for that setup. Get the 24FXP!!!! That should get you to about 5800 rpms. Also, I would start at 2.5″ below pad with the PIV and evaluate per your WPSI gauge. Had it at 3/4 and even above that. That was how I got to to the 66 mark. I have adjusted the jp from 5 1/2 below up to less than 3 when I started to get blowout and the boat was getting difficult to steer. I know you have had a lot of experience with props and I am assuming you still recommend the fxp 24p. This is probably what I will do, I found them for $369 so I am ready to pull the trigger as they say. Just hoping someone can give me a report on a boat/motor just like mine. BTW – some guy on the other website is trying to sell a Fury 25p that he says he got from someone (cant remember who) who had a boat just like mine. Was that you?

No not me per the 25 Fury. Lets discuss more on your PIV setup. I know these are different hulls but At 2″ below pad with my Eyra/200SHO I had blow out coming out of the hole but that was corrected when I pitched my 25T1 down to a 24T1 and I added cup. Also, for every 1/4″ I elevated the motor on my jackplate I gained approx. 45-55 plus rpms going from 2.25″ below pad all the way up to 1″ below pad with my Eyra/200SHO setup and I had 17 plus WPSI too at WOT. Just a thought.

Kramr, FXP follow up. I did test a FXP on my Eyra before I sold it. There was zero blow out coming out of the hole. That prop was dynamic but tenths of a mph slower then Fury at WOT. If I was getting a SHO and tournament fished with hole shot emphasis the FXP prop would be my choice for the SHO. Kramr, have to ask…. Are all your vent holes plugged on your Fury prop? If they are not that could be causing the blow out too.

i have a 200sho/ piv. the boat is a great fishing platform but the with the sho the boat will not do much better than what you are getting. i was burned at the stake on here when i stated once before about this combo. has a lot to be desired went it comes to performance. i would not get a piv with a sho again. this is nothing against the boat or motor, this combo just dont work well together. the best i have seen is 69.7 that was low on fuel, just me and with the wind. 25 t1 prop. good luck

For what its worth, I have a PIV with an Optimax. The best Ive seen is 70.8 turning about 5650 rpm. From what Ive read, I dont think with any 200 your going to see 72+ m.p.h. Its well documented that this isnt a go fast hull, I think the ride compromises the speed, but Im happy with mine. My wife gives me “that look” when we usually hit the 60 m.p.h. mark.JP

They make that series in a four blade and a three blade. We would try it in a 26 or 25 four blade version. BCB

JP, Sounds like you have a very reliable govenor on your PIV. rbcat per your PIV/SHO have you ever tried a 24p prop? How high are you on the JP? These two variables are critical. When I had my PIV/200SHO I had it for a very short period of time but did hit 70.8 withe 200SHO getting 5650-5700 rpms at 3″ below pad. I really think a 24 FXP or Fury will be dynamite with your setup at 3″ to 2.5″ below pad. Just a thought. Like its been mentioned the PIV is not the fastest in the 19 family but its the best all around 19 BassCat boat in my opinion.

Just for clarification, which FXP did you test?
