Ok, which is faster Puma FTD, Cougar FTD, or the new Eyra?? Running a 250 Proxs, Fury prop, light tournament load. Nothing fancy on setup. 2011 model year. Just because curious minds want to know.
I must of missed it getting stirred the first time. I just heard a rumor that the Puma FTD is edging them both out by a mile or two on the top end. I am running a Cougar FTD myself thinking it was the fastest, but was really swaying toward an Eyra when it was first announced. Dont get me wrong anything over 80mph is awesome fast. Just thought the Eyra would have been on the top with the above setup.
Probably would be well to revisit this (again) in another month or so…..when people have been able to run the Eyra with 250 of any brand. Right now, there are literally only a few out there and it is so new, those that have them are dialing them in…and varying hp on the Eyra as it was designed to crossover a broad hp range. Some now have 200/225/250 on the Eyra.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
The two (2) at the dealer meeting were conservative, and they were very close. The Puma FTD we have said since day one on this was a better tournament rig. Though the Eyra does carry a load better. There are too many factors to add to this to make a decision based upon opinions. Then the feel of the Eyra is another topic, and the fuel mileage. Plus ability to run with a 200 that the Puma wont be as strong in that category. BCB
