Which Pantera

I have a friend interested in a 19 foot Bass Cat, and I just don’t know anything about the Pantera models. What is the major differences with these models? I know if I was picking, I would choose the PIV, but that’s just me. I see the PIV is longer than the PII, but other than length, what are the major differences in the way these boats handle? My friend is interested in a 150, but I would think 200 would be nice.

The P4 is a little longer and wider, better rough water ride, and is the premium 19ft boat. Its gonna be slower than the other two and will be the most expensive. The P II and Classic both are built on the same hull. The difference is in these two is mostly front deck space, storage, weight, and price. In my opinion the P II is the best buy for the average fisherman and is one of BCBs top sellers. As for the outboard goes I always recomend to power to the max HP rating. Underpowering one can be a costly mistake and will hurt come resale time. This is not the place to try to save a $. IMO

Have to agree with Chris on the PII. For the difference in money (2-3K), the PII offers more storage than the Pantera Classic. The PIVs I have seen are priced in the mid 40s which puts them several thousand over the PII. Regardless of the rig selected, may I suggest getting a 200 HP on it.

All 3 are good boats, I looked at all 3 and decided on the P4. Some differences that I saw P4 and Classic (if deck extension is installed) have full decks to the console. P2 has step at cooler, a person could step off in if not paying attention. Rear storage boxes are bigger on the P4, consoles on P4 are bigger which are nice if you fish in the winter months. I would for sure go 200 on P4, maybe a 175 on Classic and P2.

Definately get the 200 on either! I have the P2 with the 200, lots of space , quick as a cat, pun intended!

I have a 08 Classic and love it! Also it screams like a vette on the water!

Agree with BT, I have an 05 Classic and its best of all worlds; Fast and rides good. People that have the T or S boats in this size class are amazed at the ride of this boat. One complaint I have is that front storage box is too big! I have trouble finding my baits that I need to fish with that day. I usally find them days/weeks later!!

I have 2005 Classic with a 175 opti (long story) It runs 63 gps at 4000 ft 67 at 2500 ft. If I had known I would be getting a Cat to replace a N boat, I would have got the 200. Martin

Highly recommend the 200HP and if get Classic, get the deck extension. Ive fished mine with and without. Cant believe how much extra fishing room the extension provides and it gives you a little extra storage too under the extension. And your ice will last longer! Cant go wrong with any of the three Panteras.
