Here latlely it seems to me that so many basscat boats have the color white in them, especially on the sides and bottoms. Im just wondering why? Is there some positive research that supports fishing out of a white boat? I may be wrong, please correct me if I am, but it is my understanding that fish are sometimes spooked by colors such as white? Thanks for any info. anyone has on this matter.gary
I have white on my sides and I have noticed that there are no visible scratches and I know I have touched a dock or two. I guess that you cant see the scratches in the clear coat as easily as you can on colors. I really like the white, it still looks new.
You put that boat on the water the black boot with the white hull makes all of the other colors just pop!!! Plus the fish see that and they just gravitate to it. They know even though they have the shame of getting cought, they also have the unwavering pride of bragging about being choufered around in one of the most beautiful and awesom Bass Boats on the market today. My Pantera II is Red/Black where this one is blue, I get compliments after compliments on how nice it looks. It just makes you proud of ownership.BrianBrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Ill second that. It is the most awesome boat out there. I see that red & black combo of yours looks great too. I also like that big blue on the back. Last edited by conroeman on July 24th, 2011, 8:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Is this an opinion or do you have some research facts on that? Do compliments catch fish? Now what about the guy who wants to catch some fish?? Im looking for facts and by the way, this is not intended to be offensive. Im looking for serious comments. I can see where scratches would not be as obivious. This would be something to think about.
I agree. Came out of a red/gold/black T boat to this beauty. White is the cleanest color and u could see every scratch and even the swirl marks from waxing(on the red boat). I just love the contrast of white/black as it really makes any color added louder.

It comes down to 1, can you find fish and 2, can you properly present them with a possible easy meal. If you cant do one or the other you will not catch many fish no matter what color your boat is. I am not a scientist or fish biologist by any means but I do a study everytime I am on the water, sometimes Im right and sometimes Im wrong. But I have never blamed the color of my boat as my problem. I do thank you for giving me a new excuse for not being able to whip up on KVD on a regular basis though. When you find the scientific facts that white scares bass please let the folks at all of the boat manufactures know so they will stop using this scary color. Or keep it your secret so when you go on tour you can out fish any one of them folks with the color white on their boat. Oh and please let God know he needs to change the color of the bait fishes bellies as it is scaring the bass half to death. My live well could have been filled with 50lbs of bass if they werent so dadgummed scared to eat someting with the color white on it. Compliments do not catch fish, but they can damn sure break the ice for someone trying to find out what I know when I come back in. By the way, if you didnt want to be offensive, you wouldnt have posted your response as offensive. Brian BrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
Im into my 13th bass boat between my own and boats that were sponsored. My Puma is my 2nd Cat. In the 70s-early 80s a lot of guys bought boats which had boots with bright colors–light blues, reds and yellows mostly. Yellow was the only color which seemed to affect the bite. The color of the hull sides didnt seem to bother the fish but the boot color did. My boats have had the basic white or black boots and it didnt matter to the bass. My personal preference is white but only because I like the look it gives to my rig.
Brian, Im sorry that I have offended you. LOZman thanks for the imformation! It is very much appreciated! garyLast edited by gwwayne on July 25th, 2011, 1:41 pm, edited 2 times in total.
gwwayne,You didnt offend me, I will not give you the power to do that. But you knew you were being offensive and then tried to convince me and everyone else you werent by saying so. Therefore I had to let you know I was on to you and throw a jab or two in there for good measure. Its all in fun, and I got a kick out of it. Plus I now have a new very good excuse I can use with all these blokes out here in SoCal.BrianHAWG Hunter2013 BassCat Eyra2013 Mercury 250 Pro XS Gen2 L/U
