Ok guys I have just bought this boat (96 Eyra)a few weeks ago and been working on fixing up a few things. I have changed 4 pumps out but I can not get all of them to turn on now and dont know if they were working before either. I have checked a bunch of things and the weird thing is that for the ones that dont work which is 4 of them ( not all of them are ones I replaced) I can get voltage but the pump will not turn on. I am in a pickle cause I have checked everything I know to check. I think the dash may be the cause but not sure what is going on. I think I have the bp 100 dash Help please.
BCB has the BP 100 dash manuals in pdf forms in a link on their website under parts. Here is the link – http://www.basscat.com/bp_100manual.pdf. I dont believe the OEM still supports the dash so you may have do the conversion kit which is under the parts section too. Here is the link – http://www.basscatstore.c…rdashconversionkit.aspx. Another option is to find a used replacement dash. Calling BCB to discuss the issue would be my first step since they can help you diagnose the issue. Good luck.
Check voltage coming out of the dash assembly and you can do that with hte main four wire plug in on the dash, and by using a volt meter on the pins for each function. You could even hot wire a pump at those dash pins if you would like. To do that you will have to remove the clamp strip on the dash, and the dash from teh actual boat dash. Then you can turn it over to access the functions. As Rlb8s points out, there are drawings and diagrams on the main page for this. We think usually the functions are another issue and not the BP dash, though occasionally it is the dash. On a boat this age you can do a conversation, or you can also run seperate switches for the pumps or features. It sounds to us like a ground problem from the terminal block on the transom, in the sump area. Check all those wire ends in the sump and for continuity through the grounds. BCB
You are talking about the long strip of wires that are looped together on a block right? Lots of black wires right? I am pretty good with 12v systems but this one has got me stumped. Thanks I will try that out today.
Yes, it is the strip on the transom with about 16 screw, 8 on opposing sides. This is where we tie all the grounds together to prevent a mess on the battery, and tie all the positives as well. So only one wire feeds the boat. The other you can check by removing the dash assembly and checking output as described above. Since the whole rear quarter is down, this is really rare and we suspect a wiring issue. The dash is not out of the equation as a possible problem, though it seldom is on one like this. Do your homework with a voltmeter and figure out the leads to the pumps from those J plugs as marked on Page 19 we believe of your manual. BCB
The manual that I have downloaded is not very visible as far as the wire diagram goes. Does anyone have a better picture or copy of the wiring diagram? Thanks for all of the help I hate to keep asking questions about the same issue.
Let me gather everything up (diagrams) and I can email them to you. I just rewired my P2 BP100 dash. I wasnt happy with it after that so I just upgraded to a-10 I believe all manual gauges. The conversion kit off BCB website. If you have an email address I can email them to you. I would offer you my bp100 dash but honestly you would probably be in worse shape. I tried cleaning it testing out switches, it was not happy. I guess it just finally decide to quit. Things just started failing on it. Steve
Sent you a message WV basscat
Yep got it, and sent diagrams to you…. Good luck, Steve
