I would like to touch up paint my Minn Kota Maxxum 101 trolling motor. There are a few scrapes and scratches that have exposed the bare metal. Has anyone experienced what I would like to do? What type of paint should I use? Should I use a primer? Minn Kota has a unique black matte finish and the types of paint that are used for marine engines are too glossy. I would like to match the original as best I can. Thanks.

Krylon makes some versions in Krinkle finish that will look ok.

Hardy Har Har ward. I think Ill take BCBs advice. I can get Krylon cheap at Wally World and touch up as needed or weekly……….

They have truck bed liner also if they are not stocking Krinkle finish.

I havent painted the actual motor but did have the top piece of the mount painted red. I told them red, they used some paint they had laying around, it turned out like the Iron Man red….looks freakin sweet!

Please you the Krylon. When using “bedliner” or “gatorhyde”, it interfers with being able to Open it up and reseal incase there is a problem inside.Jones Trolling Motor Services870 773 3474Motorguide/MinnKota/PowerPole/Lowrance/Humminbird
