I am looking forward to it! The water level on Hartwell is about 4 low. I am not sure about the water temp but I am thinking mid to upper 40s. BR200 has my boat to fish an ABA couples on Guntersville this weekend so I havent been on Hartwell recently.The main lake is clear and the backs of the creeks are pretty clear for this time of year. We did have a big rain Sunday that put some stain in the very backs of the creeks. If we have a little warning trend and the water gets into the 50s the lake should bust wide open with power fishing patterns. I think someone will find some schooling action.I look through the Classic contenders and wonder who will shine and with what pattern. Hartwell is big and diverse so everyone will be able to fish to their strenths. One thing is with only 56 competitors, I dont think the fish will be pressured from practice…versus say when a 150+ FLW field plus co-anglers practices on a lake. We had one of the biggest GA. Federation Top Six tournaments ever on Hartwell back in 1996, I think we had over 300 boats. Once everyone blasted off, you didnt see too many boats on the water.Holler at me if you are at the launch site! Red Eyra with the Yamaha.BR

BR400 – Took 28 lbs to win a team event (5 fish) this past weekend. 22 lbs didnt even get paid (paid 3 places). Fish are chomping right now!BassCatSC

My wife and I have actually been thinking about coming down to the Classic, just to try to cure some Indiana cabin fever. I would guess its too late to get a motel room anywhere near the lake or the Expo. I may make some calls today just to see what is available.

Wont be able to make this one but Ive been to two in New Orleans. Both the weigh-in and the expo were great. If you have kids that like to fish theyll probably like it too. Dont miss it if you get the chance to go, its about the biggest bass expo youll get to see.

Everyone involved in bass fishing should make at least one Bassmasters Classic! Most everyone here has attended more than we dare to say and the weigh in and festivities are really a treat for those first timers. Best attendance is coming in on Thursday and leaving when you feel youve had enough. Some stay through it all, some leave after Friday evening or Saturday morning. It is a long day for everyone from anglers to the crowds. BCB
