First tourney fished today was a “paper” tourney that didnt count for club points but was excuse to get out. Five boats get to end of long no wake zone about same time with two 250s & a 200 in front of me and a 250 behind me. We all hit gas at about same time. Funny how I never saw another boat even beside me much less in front of me after about 30 seconds…. #basscatpanteraclassic200merc26fury Rock & roll baby. 🙂
You won the boat race. How did you do in tourney? LOL
Um, can we PLEASE not talk about our last place finish…. LOL. I was trying to salvage a tiny piecee of my dignity but so much for that…. I may suck but at least Im honest!
Hey keep your head up – a month from now no one will remember who won the tournament. But those guys with 250s on their boats will still be having bad dreams about what the back end of your boat looks like
Well at least you placed. Ive had tourneys where I left before the end. LOL
Tpop, thats funny. I am trying to get info on a club here in Louisville, Kentucky but have not heard back. Could be they dont have enough boaters for another non-boater. Ill keep looking though. I have the fever and passion back after my first bass fishing trip in 10 years. Also, this sounds bad and it is embarrassing, but it was also the first and only time I 2 as actually happy and not depressed for longer than 30 minutes to an hour. No joke! This invisible injury crap is no joke and it takes a toll for sure. So when you hear or read that fishing is a great form of therapy or at least temporary escape for a wounded soldier from any era, believe it because I am proof positive it is. When I start getting down and depressed, which is most of the time it seems, I try to think about the next trip with KPBW or the fish I caught on the last trip. I sometimes get what little equipment I have out and clean it again and re-sharpen hooks or whatnot. So i urge everyone that can to help someone with invisible injuries, soldier or not. You WILL make a huge difference in their lives. To the OP, sorry, didnt mean to hijack. So if a Pantera can outrun other brands with 250s, then how does it hold up against the Puma, Cougar, and Eyra with 250s?
You could put a 225 on the Puma, Cougar, and Eyra and still out run 99% of the competition with 250s. There are lots of boats on the water with 250s that will only run 67-71 MPH. Any 3 of the Cats you mentioned will run 78-83 with 250s and ride better on top of that. Mr. Peirce has the hull design figured out for sure.
If you ever get up to Maine Id be honored to take you fishing.Being a veteran myself I understand what youre going through.
Thanks Tpop…. I worked at the hospital in Fort Kent up there and the company I worked for that had the contract housed me up in Canada in Edmondston. I loved being in Maine in the Spring through Fall. Except those darn black flies… the bite oozes for weeks. What I was wondering is which would go faster and by how much, a Pantera with the 200, or the Puma, Cougar, or Eyra with a 250, or even 225? I think I can assume that the Puma, Cougar, and Eyra will outrun the Pantera with either engine but I am not sure what the top speed range is. I assume they all come up on plane extremely fast. If a Pantera II is not that much slower than the Puma with a 225 or 250, then it would make sense for me to look at the Pantera II. But if the Puma FTD leaves the Pantera II dead in the water, then obviously I would like to spend that little extra money on the Puma. I LOVE them both and I am not sure the price differences with a tournament build. I want the wounded warriors that I take out on the water to have that tournament feel for sure and possibly fish a few lower level and local tournaments with them as my co-angler. Anyway, I might have a way to start fishing, but I will not be able to take anyone with me. My inlaws had a very old, I mean, VERY old 14 foot boat that is no wider than I am, that has a trolling motor and a small outboard motor on it. Just enough for me to practice my fishing so I can shake the cobwebs off while I wait for the actual Bass Cat boat that God is going to provide. It is called a “Faith Boat”. I trust in God and his ability to do anything.
Ok, update, I just found out that my inlaws sold the boat a year ago. so much for that but I will continue praying and keeping my faith.Love you all and keep your lines wet and your clothes dry…
