Windscreen wrap install question

BCB why no water and soap solution why dry? Has it been tried? This large of a decal seems it would be more fool proof with water and soap solution. Wrong adhesive?Thanks

There is some forming and stretching required. Water would not allow this and the materials are made to use dry on the install. Be sure to watch Kevin Short in the video installing.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on April 19th, 2010, 11:36 am, edited 1 time in total.

Installed many decals over the years very few dry just wondered. Just did a Jeff Gordon Monte SS hood reminded me a bit of the old Trans Am with the Eagle…… I cant believe the cost they get for those on the Monte SS….over $1500.00 for a hood and fender and door…..Will do it dry….keeps me sharp for those helmet decal installs.Thanks again

I doubt I ever will get windshield wraps, unless I can talk someone into installing them for me. I can place decals using the soap and water exactly where I want them…but dry…no way. I know I would screw it up!

I just installed mine after watching the video 3 times, I must say that the front looks great, but the sides and edges look pretty bad. I took my time and used the hair dryer, but still could not get all the wrinkles out. Next time I will pay someone to do it.

Hey cbass, Which wrap did you get? I got the red BCB and flames, and the flames hide the wrinkles pretty well on mine. I too took my time and still messed it up pretty good! Oh well, I will leave it on for now!

Its been in hibernation for obvious reasons. No issues on my end. I am just glad there were no cameras running when I made all the comical attempts to put it on. The wraps are nothing like the adhesive process many are familiar with using soap and water. There is a heat and stretch factor to consider on non flat surfaces like the BassCat windshields.Flyswatter
