Wired stereo remote install questions 2008 Cougar

I am getting ready to install this wired remote and have some questionsI want to install it either here or hereMay be easier if I show you thisor hereI can get the wire to either place but I do not think I can install this backerDo you guys just silicone or urethane them in? Is there any concern for any wiring etc behind those 2 places? Can someone point me to the link for cutting into this gel coat? I have any tool you can recommend so I am looking for the best install. How do you clean out inside after the cut?I would prefer to install it on the left side where it is angled a bit to the front that is my choice between the two that is next to the tilt button on the front of the boat.Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

If you cant get the bracket on, then urethane would definitely hold it. Messy stuff but good!

I work with urethane and can appreciate your comment. My concern with the urethane is if I had to remove it for any reason. Thus I was leaning toward silicone. How does BCB secure theirs? If with the bracket is that done prior to completion while there is still access to that area?Thanks

I have it and mine is in the second location. On the angle, facing me. with the bracket or some kind of adhesive? Can you see from the back side and I agree and prefer the second location myself. That will be the install area now I need to see if I am “gluing” it in or the bracket and I need to find the cutting fiberglass thread in archives.Thanks

We have been able to snake our arms around there is most cases. Though this is prior to a trolling motor install and the right angles are critical.

We dont think most can do it as the install is for a contortionist in most cases.

I installed a sony remote on a 07 puma, take the trolling motor plug panel out, you may have to take a dremal tool to inlarge the hole so you have as mutch room as possible for your arm youll need it. Then decide where to install. From my experiance and the pictures the front step tear drop nonslip area next to the plug panel will be the easyest to use the braket.

the troller plug bracket a larger hole? I expected it to be not much more then what it takes to run wires through it..Thanks
