The ribbed plastic is a bit to flexible.
Remove the clamp. Cover the hose end with a few layers of electrical tape that is not too stiff (the tape needs to get into the grooves.)
I put crazy glue (gorilla glue) on the ends of the tape to stop fraying.
Reattach the clamps.
I do this every other year
