Has anyone and any dealings with Yahama service?? My lower unit decided to take a dump this morning around 7a.m. Im a little ticked so to speak. I have no reverse and only 500 RPMs in forward gear, funny thing is that when the motor is in forward the gear shifter in the neutral position and I can not get the shifter to budge forward, its cranking in gear too?? Really blows since I have had this rig since May and have had a $#@! ton of issues out of the Yammie, may have cost me the TX today as well, we had 14lbs really early like 2nd spot early and lost approx 3hrs due having to idle at 2.5mph. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Its a 2009 250 HPDI, Thanks so much,,Im headed to the cooler full of Bud Lights now,,haha..Life aint that bad afterall!!

I dont hear much about yamapops on here !! u need to pay your dealer a visit monday to get your warranty work rolling!

I would wait til dealer looks. Yamaha lower unit best design out there(based on someone with extensive experience, not me). If you have any problems finding block or lower unit I can help but you probably wont need it. Yamaha has good parts just longer waits sometimes(simple math in number of motors out there v mercury and discontinuation of line regarding block). I would guess 2-3wk turn around depending on motivation on local end. My repair source did yam block last year on 09 hpdi of a friend that took 2-3 weeks if I remember correctly. A lower unit takes 15″ to put on if its that.C.O.D. Jr. III

Yes I will be visiting a Yahama dealer bright and early tomorrow morning the long waits I hear are weighing on me but what can you do. I certainly dont believe the motor is blown but the gearcase does has issues. When I can get the shifter in neutral the prop will spin free but once in gear it takes Coxs Army to spin the thing. Thanks alot guys and if my guy drags his feet I just may give you a shout.

It was in the shifter and the boat is back in my garage,,sigh of relief!!!!!

Yes, relief is defined by that issue.
