Got to fish fri eve, sat morn and late aft, and sun morn. Three of us Caught four on chug bugs late fri and missed a few more. Also, Lost a four pounder at the boat trying to lip her without getting a handful of hooks. Sat morn was tough. Boated two on lizards, but missed several early on topwater baits. Frustrating. Went back out sat aft following lunch and a midday nap. Caught three on lizards in seven foot of water, and another on a fluke up in the hay grass shallow. Got two more on flukes sun early before heading back to lafayette. Same deal…real shallow in hay. Shad the size of a qtr oz rattletrap were everywhere. Other than the missed toad at the boat, nothing was bigger than three pounds. Beautiful weather, though. Great time with my brother on the water, regardless.
