Hey Guys, My name is Ben Dziwulski and I am an 17 year old (18 soon) bass angler from Maryland. As a senior in high school I have already done some great things thus far in my short but sweet fishing career. In the past two years of competitive fishing I was both the FLW and BASS Junior Bassmaster Champion for the State of Maryland. I fished in both Junior World Championships and did very well. Aside from the junior bassmaster events, I have also competed in many local adult tournaments and won a few out of my small Aluminum rig. For school, my mentor is FLW Tour Pro Frank Ippoliti, and he has taught me many ins and outs of the professional fishing arena. Sure enough, he is on BassCats prostaff and always has a AWESOME rig for us to fish out of. For this tournament season, he is running a Cougar FTD with a 250xs on the back. Needless to say, after fishing out of MANY other boats during tournaments…..BassCat has always been my preferred boat brand. Frank has certainly convinced me. With that said, I am looking to continue my competitive fishing career as I move onto the next level. I am graduating High school this year with a 3.9 GPA and will be attending North Carolina State University to fish for their highly competitive bass fishing team. As of now, I do not have a rig that would enable me to prefish/fish their qualifying tournaments very effectively. If I am not able to do well in their tournaments, then I will never have a chance at making it to nationals. I have always dreamed of making it a professional fisherman; making it to college nationals is another big step along the way. I am now searching for a boat that I will be taking down to college to fish the collegiate tour along with BFL and Bassmaster Weekend Series events. I know BassCat has the finest boats on the water, and want my first true bass boat to have the BCB name. As many of you know, college is expensive…..especially out-of-state tuition. I am still scraping together some money from work and tournament winning to help fund the purchase of a BassCat to take down to college. If anyone has a boat, or knows of anyone that is are willing to part with for a good price, please let me know. My price range will be between 5,000 and 7,500$ I would prefer something at or below 5,000$ so that I can use the extra cash for tuition. Please let me know if you guys have anything in mind or have any ideas. You can respond here, but the best way to reach me is through email at b23ball23fisher@hotmail.com. Like I said, I am in MD, but will travel or meet people to work things out. If you want to learn any more about me and my mentorship with Basscats Frank Ippoliti- check out http://www.bassfeed.com and listen to one of their latest podcasts about the future of fishing- I am the first person interviewed. I take it New Mexico is to far to travel?
I am thinking that might be a little too far, unless the deal is THAT good. I think it would cost a bunch just to tow that far and come back home, unfortunately. Ben Dziwulski God Bless
I am also a young angler that is looking to become a professional fisherman. I was just wondering when you need this boat and what are your preferences for this boat? I am from Illinois so its a closer drive than New Mexico. My Dad and uncle own a 1985 Basscat Caracal that we are thinking about selling. But im not sure yet so good luck and i will get back to you if we decide to sell. DanDan Yonan. ———————————————————
My dad has a 1993 Margay. This boat has been garage kept and is still a great boat. It has a 1994 Merc 125. He just purchased a 03 p4 and really wants to keep them both, but mom says old blue has to go. He is going to clean and wax it and post it here for $5000. I read your story and think this would be a great boat for you. We just fished it in the Cystic Fibrosis tourney on Norfork two weeks ago. If your interested Ill send some pics after he gets it looking sharp. It has been a great boat and I hate to see it go. Thought Id give you the heads up before he sells it.Tom
Benfisher23, my brother has an 86 Caracal with an 86 Mariner 150 for sale. It has the following upgrades in the spring of 07. A new 70lb Thrust MK trolling motor, new carpet with a custom built flippin deck (with extra storage), new BassCat fold down seats & all new BassCat stickers. The The boat is located in North West Arkansas (Harrison, AR). The price is $5,000. If your interested or have any questions call him at 870-577-3785.
Sorry for the late reply guys! I just came in 3rd at a BFL as a coangler and picked up some cash. If I had 6 more ounces I would be buying a boat! The prize money for first would have put me right at the amount that my dad told me to save. Oh well, I am glad that God blessed me with a strong showing. I should be ready to buy a boat soon- within the next couple months, but if a steal comes by I will jump on it! I know I shouldnt have many preferences or be too picky, but I am looking hopefully for something that is 1991 or newer with a 150 outboard. Frank thinks that I will be able to find one no problem if I look hard enough, and that I should be selective since it will be my first boat and it needs to last long since it will be my first boat to fish the BFLs and Weekend series with. I am looking really hard for an Eyra, but they are hard to find since they are such a great boat. I am going to keep shopping and try to find the best thing I can. If you think you have something that you might sell or you think I might be interested in…..shoot me an email at b23ball23fisher@hotmail.com. Thanks for all of the help guys! I really appreciate it! Ben Dziwulski God bless
http://basscatowners.yuku.com/topic/4301. I am pretty sure you have already seen this one today. I bought a 96 Eyra last May. I really love this boat. Maybe you could get a little assistance or go to NADA pricing at the top of the “for sale” section to find pricing on this rig. Good luck.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
