Mine came with a 6″, as was factory standard for the 08 Cougar FTD. Im pretty sure Ive seen this question posted earlier this year when the 09 models were first being introduced, but dont remember for certain BCBs position concerning warranty if you changed it on an 08 model? Im sure someone will answer that shortly for you. And I do think that the 09s are coming standard with the 8″ jack plate. I am somewhat curious what the extra 2″ would change? It obviously moves the engine weight slightly and would have to have some impact on “balance”, so Im guessing it may handle just a tad differently since no change was made to hull design on Cougar and Puma that I can recall?
